Backyard Wildlife During Times of Isolation

With the rate of Covid-19 cases and deaths in Michigan projected to peak this month, we are all settling into a new rhythm at home. I am relieved that everyone in my family seems to be adapting well to some pretty big changes.

As I will not be traveling for the foreseeable future, I have been focused primarily on my children, trying to provide them the educational and emotional support that they need to help them finish the academic year strong. When they are occupied with their various activities, however, I have been out in my new backyard observing the drama unfold on the lake as the wildlife fights for survival.

These are some of the photographs that I’ve captured both from my backyard and in some cases from inside my house.
