Lewa Wildlife Conservancy

The first stop on the safari portion of our trip was at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, home to the big five and famous for its work on rhino conservation. Indeed we saw many rhinos there, but there was also an impressive diversity of wildlife: Lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, ostriches, and gazillions of other birds.

Because Covid has had such an impact on travel and tourism, we had the whole safari camp to ourselves for two whole nights! It was an absolute blast and the perfect first Safari experience for my daughter, Karson.

In addition to our game drives, we also had the unique opportunity to experience the park via camels. It was pretty incredible to be among the giraffes! Here are a couple of photos I took with my iPhone:
