About

Chelsea Tischler is an engineer and an internationally recognized award-winning photographer based in the Detroit metro area.

Since childhood, Chelsea has traveled extensively – to more than 40 countries on all seven continents. Throughout her travels, she became increasingly fascinated by nature, wildlife, science, and different cultures, all which inspired a profound interest in photography.

Chelsea has had rights-managed representation with Gallery Stock for more than a decade.  Major magazine publications include Rangefinder, PDN, Newsweek, National Geographic (online), Condé Nast Traveler (US, UK, India, and Middle East), AFAR, Elite Traveler, Vanity Fair (Italy), Town & Country, British Airways High Life, KLM Flying Dutchman, Luxury, Parents, Wells Fargo Conversations, Capital (Germany), Myself (Germany), Elle (France & Germany), and major commercial licensing includes Apple, Hewlett Packard, Citibank, LATAM Airlines, Meda Pharmaceuticals and others.

Chelsea's professional career began as a Mechanical Engineer for the US Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After a move to California for her husband’s job in 2010, she took her career in a more creative direction and studied photography at the Brooks Institute.  Now back in Michigan, Chelsea’s love of science and technology has brought her full circle: With the support of her husband and two children, she started a Ph.D. program in 2021 in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Michigan with a focus on plasmas and nuclear fusion. She will continue to have professional photographic representation through Gallery Stock, but will be focusing primarily on this new path for the near future.
